The jump season begins

Ascot’s first meeting of the new 2013/2014 Jumps season features the £100,000 United House Gold Cup Chase over three miles. Key supporting races are The Byrne Group Handicap Chase, and the competitive William Hill Handicap Hurdle, which takes place over two miles.

The Plaza Lawns will offer a selection of thrilling rides, with a few tamer rides for the under-10s. Rides are free of charge until 4pm, when they will cost £1 per ride (donated to local charities).

Ascot’s firework spectacular starts at 6pm and will be launched by and five-times Paralympic GB archer, Kathy Critchlow-Smith. Kathy is patron of Sportsable, one of the charities the Round Table supported through the proceeds raised from the fireworks last year.

All racegoers who have purchased tickets to the racing are welcome to stay for the display.

Tickets for just the firework display can be pre-purchased from the Ascot Round Table, or can be bought at the gate on the day.

Bars, food outlets and fairground rides will all remain open until the fireworks commence.

All family entertainment is in the Grandstand Admission area so all racegoers can participate.
